I stumbled across some friends blogs by accident. My professor has told us all this semester that we need to start a blog if we don't already have one. I like to ramble about daily life so what better place to do that then here? So here we are. It's 3am and I can't sleep. This is a normal occurance for me. I even took prescibed sleep medicine and it still hasn't taken effect yet. Mike's going fishing later in the am so I'm going to have to be the one to get up with kiddos. Leah comes home from camp this afternoon. Its been quiet without her around. Don't get me wrong I love my child. Sometimes she can be intense and we all needed a break from her for a few days. She's eleven and thinks she knows it all already. Thought that wasn't suppose to hit for a few more years yet but its here and in full swing. Back talking, arguing, smart mouth, you name it she is doing it. She is a good, sweet, kind hearted girl. I couldn't ask for a more perfect child out in public but at home its a different story. Which is good I guess that she doesn't act this way out in public. She has become withdrawn this summer and I don't know if that is just part of hitting early teens or if she is depressed. She doesn't call any of her friends and none of them call her. She doesn't go anywhere or spend the night at anyones homes. Her sister is just the opposite. Friends are calling her for play dates all the time. I know they are different and I don't want to compare them. I just don't know what to do. I keep suggesting to her to call this friend or that friend but she won't. I tell her to invite someone over to spend the night but she won't. All she wants to do is lay on the couch and watch tv or eat. She has gained a lot of weight this last year and more this summer. She will not go outside to play, she can't stand to be hot and doesn't like to sweat. She absolutely hates change. Any kind of change. I have been going to school this summer and haven't been as attentive to her as usual and she hates that. She wants to be babyed and entertained. Hello, your not three anymore! Your growing up and its hard. I know its hard. I remember! But it is what you have to do so adjust and lets move on. She will start sixth grade in a few weeks. What happened to my baby? Oh I remember, shes growing up.
